“If I Were in Their Place” Awareness Event Promotes Understanding of Hearing Impairment and Communication Disorders at the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Abha | Thursday, 1 October 2026

The Student Club of the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Abha – Female Section, in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs, organized an educational and humanitarian awareness event entitled “If I Were in Their Place”, aimed at raising awareness of hearing impairment and speech and communication disorders while promoting empathy, inclusion, and effective communication.

The event featured educational stations and interactive experiences designed to simulate some of the challenges faced by individuals with hearing impairments and communication disorders. It also introduced participants to the fundamentals of sign language and highlighted the importance of supporting social inclusion and empowering individuals to participate actively in their communities.

This initiative reflects the college’s commitment to social responsibility, fostering understanding and inclusivity, and highlighting the essential role of applied medical sciences in improving quality of life and supporting diverse community needs.
