FACULTY PROFILE - MALE

Dr. Ashraf Ahmed Elbessoumy is working as Associate Professor of Biochemistry at the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences, College of Applied Medical Sciences, King Khalid University, Abha. He is a program coordinator of the department. He earned his Ph.D. from Alexandria University, Alexandria, Egypt. He had been awarded a postdoctoral fellowship at School of Bioscience, Birmingham University, United Kingdom. His expertise includes proteins chemistry, enzymes purification, biotechnology & molecular biology techniques, and clinical & medical analysis. He has published 22 research papers in various national and international peer reviewed reputed journals. He is membership of, British society of Biochemistry, Egyptian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Egyptian Association of Clinical Chemistry.

Dr. Sultan Alasmari is an assistant professor in the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences and Vice Dean for Development and Quality at the faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, King Khalid University. Dr Alasmari has earned his bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, King Khalid University in 2008 and Master degree in Laboratory Medicine with a major in hematology from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in 2011 with distinction. He has also received a PhD degree from Monash University in 2016 in studying the role of white blood cell (especially Neutrophils) during inflammation and against infection. He has conducted his PhD research at Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute (ARMI) at Monash University for 4 years.

Dr. Gaffar Zaman is working as an Assistant professor of Biochemistry in College of Applied Medical Science, King Khalid University, Abha. Previously, he has worked for more than 7 years as an Assistant Professor in reputed medical colleges. He earned his M.D. (Doctor of Medicine in Biochemistry) from Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh, Assam, India. He is credited with a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Research. He is currently doing Fellowship in Diabetology.  He has published 30 research papers in various national and international peer reviewed reputed journals. He has also reviewed many manuscripts. He has attended many National/International Conferences and Workshops.

Dr. Rajagopalan Prasanna M.Sc., Ph.D., F.I.C.S. had completed his Doctoral degree in Biochemistry from University of Madras, India and is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences. He has 9 years of experience in academic and industrial background and is specialized in Drug discovery and Biological Research. He has 12 research publications to his credit in reputed journals and international conferences.  An active researcher in the field of cell biology he is the winner of national award in cytometry techniques. He has guided a number of scientific projects and organized workshops in the discipline.

 

Dr. Irfan Ahmad is working as  Assistant Professor of Microbiology in the Department of Clinical Laboratory Science, College of Applied Medical Science, King Khalid University, Abha. He earned his Ph.D. from King George's Medical University, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. His expertise includes Bacteriology and Immunology. He has published 16 research papers in various national and international peer reviewed reputed journals. He has attended/presented research papers in 08 National and International Conferences. He has been awarded senior research fellowship by Indian Council of medical Research, New Delhi, India. 

Dr. Ismail Mohamed Helal is Assistant Professor of Microbiology, Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences, College of Applied Medical Sciences, King Khalid University-Abha.  He is the Chairman of Academic Development and Quality unit of the College. He works in Egypt Assistant Professor of Microbiology, Nuclear Research Center. He earned his Ph.D. from Zagazig University-Egypt.  His research work is focusing on the control of microbial diseases using natural products instead of synthetic chemicals to reduce its side effects on human health. He has 13 published research papers in various National and International Journals & Conferences. He supervised and reviewed M.Sc.and Ph.D. theses.

Dr. Osama Mohammed Saed Abdul-Wahab is working as Assistant Professor of Microbiolgy in the Department of Clinical Laboratory Science. He earned his Ph.D. in Microbiology  from Liverpool University, United kingdom. His expertise includes Bacteriology and Mycoplasmology. He has published over 20 research papers in various national and international peer reviewed reputed journals. In one of his publication, he and his colleague, identified a new Mycoplasmas  species and was named  as Mycoplasma imitants. He has received three letters of Appreciation” From College of Medicine, Commending efforts for teaching Medical students, and as a best staff in  using E-learning facilities at  University. He is a membership of International Organization For Mycoplasmology.

Dr. Charles Stephen Devanesan, M.Sc., Ph.D, an associate professor of Clinical Biochemistry, completed his Master Degree and Ph.D in Medical Biochemistry in The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Madras, India. He has 27 years experience in teaching the basic and clinical biochemistry to medical students. His interest of research is on thyroid dysfunction and thyroid carcinoma. He has published several scientific papers. He has contributed a chapter in a book “The laboratory and Diabetes- A practical guide to Diabetes Mellitus” for WHO. RASHTRIYA GAURAV AWARD” was given by the IIFS for the excellence of teaching medical science subjects.

Mr Abdalla Nagib Fadul is working as  lecturer of  Microbiology in the Department of Clinical Laboratory Science, College of Applied Medical Science, King Khalid University, Abha. He earned his MSc , from Sudan University for Science &Technology, Khartoum , Sudan. His expertise in Bacteriology and basic mycology. He has attended  many National Conferences, workshop. He has been teaching bacteriology & mycology courses in King Khalid University since Oct. 2010.

My name is Erwah Al Bataineh; I was born in Jordan 1977. I honored my master degree in 2002 from Jordan University of Science and Technology. My specialization was in Microbiology within the department of applied medical sciences. I have joined king Khalid University in September 2006. Now I work as a full time lecturer in the laboratory department within the faculty of applied medical sciences. I teach different courses in microbiology, mainly virology, bacteriology and quality control for student's level 3, 4, 6 and 8. My research interest is bacteriology with focus on pharmaceutical microbiology.

Dr Sami Ben Hadj Ahmed is working as Associated Professor of Immunology and Parasitology in College of Applied Medical Sciences, King Khalid University. He is chairman of committee for community services of the college. He earned his MSc in Microbiology, a PhD in Microbiology and HDR in Biology from Tunis and a certificate of Immunology from Paris. He has expensive teaching and research experience and published over than 22 papers in international impacted journals. He supervised and reviewed M.sc and PhD thesis and he is an active member of scientific societies and research teams. His research concerns DNA vaccine approaches.

Dr. Mushtaq Mir earned Ph.D from IISc Bangalore. Being postdoctoral-fellow and research-associate for six years at Harvard-University, Boston and Research Affiliate for two years at State University New-York, Dr. Mir published his work in prominent journals of high impact-factors and is the editor of “International-Journal-of-Mycobacteriology”. Dr. Mir is an Assistant Professor and Vice-Chairman of the Academic Development and Quality, at CAMS. Currently providing advanced and high-quality education to students, Dr. Mir’s interest is to pursue the molecular-pathogenesis of M. tuberculosis and develop new-drugs to eradicate tuberculosis disease for the betterment of human mankind.

Abdullah Ali Nasser, BSc., MSc had completed his master degree from The University of Western Australia (UWA) in laboratory medicine. Currently working as a lecturer in Microbiology at medical laboratory sciences department. He has a long-standing interest in the diagnosis of infectious diseases, especially bacterial infections. He attended many training courses, meetings, symposiums, workshops and conferences nationally and internationally.

Dr. Nidda Syeed is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Laboratory sciences, College of Applied Medicine, King Khalid University. Dr. Nidda earned her Ph.D from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New- Delhi. Dr Nidda is the author of twenty five publications in original peer-reviewed journals of international repute and several books. Her main area of research involves Molecular Biology and Cancer Biology.

Sayda Mohamed kheir Osman, lecturer, 2008 up to date,  January 2002, M.sc Degree  in Clinical Biochemistry, Sudan. has title: lipid profile in Sudanese diabetic patients, in this study blood glucose level , triglyceride ,total cholesterol , and its major lipoprotein fractions HDL, LDL and VLDL were measured in diabetic patients of both diabetic groups IDDM and NIDDM to asses their metabolic control. November 1997, Post Graduate diploma course in Clinical Biochemistry , Sudan. has a title: data analysis on thyroid hormones. Mrs. Randah Hassan Alfageeh Alghamdi is working as a Lecturer at King Khalid University and she is the program Coordinator of Medical Laboratory Sciences Department (female section), College of Applied Medical Science, King Khalid University, Abha. She has completed the Master's degree in the field of Molecular Biology (Genetics) from the University of Queensland, Australia in 2011. She has attended many National Conferences, workshop. She has three years of teaching experience, three years worked as Lab specialist at King Fahad General Hospital, Jeddah and Six months in King fahad Medical research center, King AbdulAziz University.

SAMREEN ADNAN, M.S.C  with 1st class from University of Karachi. One year Laboratory technology (histopathology) course from The Aga Khan University & Hospital, Karachi ,Pakistan. 4 years of working & teaching experience in the deptt. of histopathology at The Aga Khan University & Hospital, Pakistan. 2010-2014 worked as lecturer in the deptt. of pathology, college of Medicine ,King Khalid University ,Abha. 2014-Now  working as lecturer in the deptt. of pathology, college of Applied Medical Sciences, King Khalid University , Abha. Published paper in national newsletter (LABRAD). Attended workshops at national level.
